I have used the Scarab a lot and I have used it to fix really bad damage. Over the weekend I used it to remove deep tool marks, I would call them gouges, in a curved terrazzo baseboard. I have used it to fix seriously damaged black granite and I have used it to remove lippage that could trip an elephant. I don’t know how I got by without one before. The Colossos and Raptor are also incredible machines but the Scarab is something truly special.
Also, those achromic diamonds are fantastic. I have noticed something unique about them. They are the only diamond that I have ever used, for dry diamond work, that doesn’t turn terrazzo black when it comes in contact with brass or stainless dividers. Have y’all ever noticed that? It is a huge advantage. If I cross a metal divider on a terrazzo floor, with any other type of dry diamond, it turns the metal and surrounding terrazzo jet black. The achromics don’t do this. They are also capable of removing bad tool marks.

I have worked with several brands of planetary machines and have tried all the top brands at one point or another over the past decade or so. When I started a new company 2 1/2 years ago, I had the opportunity to start from scratch. We rented planetaries for a year as I trained several employees the art of polishing. We also specialize in various types of epoxy floors. The prep of epoxy floors is key. We would typically shot blast the floors and grind the edges to profile sufficiently.I had tried a Werkmaster about 5 years ago while training in Kansa City and knew that the Octi-disc technology was the perfect fit for our dual markets.
We started out with a Titan about a year ago and graduated to the Colossus a few months later.
In all seriousness, both machines have paid for themselves and much more in less than a year’s time. The Colossos XT is the ultimate prep machine. We have been able to easily prep 10,000 – 20,000 SFT project in a day. More importantly, the prep is superior to any shot blast technique. Not only do we put a nice profile into the floor but we “flatten” the floor to a much higher degree. That results in less product required and fewer steps needed to install a “smooth” floor. Plus we eliminate much of the “hand work” at the edges. Those attributes carry over to polishing as well.
The Colossos XT levels a floor and delivers a “natural” shine that I never achieved from a planetary. We just completed a 23,000 SFT install at a 4 story museum in Cleveland, Ohio that had diffusers in the floor and so many edges that would have been impossible to grind with a planetary. The project also included over (200) – 5’ wide steps and several thousand sq/ft of landings that the Scarab made short work of.In a day and age where competitors are taking more and more shortcuts, we are selling a “better” cut of concrete with advanced technology and Werkmaster equipment.

For all of you reading this thread, WerkMaster is by far the most superior of concrete grinders out there.
My company has used many variations of grinders and diamond tooling. I now only use WerkMaster for all my concrete needs. We own WerkMaster “termite”, “Raptor” & “Colossos Propane XT” My company is in Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada.
WerkMaster is in British Columbia and the service I received from Brian and staff is phenomenal!

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to doing much much more business with WerkMaster in the future. Thanks again for your support and excellent delivery on our urgent request to have the machine sent in such short notice.
The clutch came too and will be installed tomorrow – looking forward to see how it performs.

Just a quick note to tell you how happy I am with Werkmaster. I live in a somewhat remote part of the world and discovered that the only way I was going to get polished concrete floors in my new house was to either pay exorbitant amounts for a crew to come to me and do it, or do it myself. After exhaustive research, I came across Werkmaster. The technology of the system and the practicality of being able to get right up to the wall made perfect sense to me. The fact that it was a Canadian product was icing on the cake. I had a friend volunteer his garage as the guinea pig for my new Viper.
Gordon was very helpful pointing me in the right direction while I geared up for my first grind. Unfortunately inexperience reared its ugly head and I found myself trying to grind an uneven garage floor that had been aggressively power troweled and hardened. I was having some real problems, so I sent off an email looking for help. I was blown away when I got a phone call and an email in less than 24 hours from the president of the company. The level of service and the depth and quality of direction I was being given were impressive to say the least. We were quickly back on track. The results speak for themselves. I was able to get a great looking floor out of a challenging slab. I attribute this to the design of the Viper and the tooling, the quality of the products (densifier and sealer) and most importantly the commitment of Brian, Gordon and all the great people at Werkmaster.
Thanks again for all the help. By the way, my friend who volunteered his garage happens to be an electrical engineer. He was very impressed with what he saw “under the hood” of the Viper: all top quality name brand components that are readily serviceable.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you so very much for the training you gave the March 2012 class. I came in quite green with my knowledge and left feeling confident enough to tackle the various scenarios that were discussed. The level of professionalism shown by yourself, Matthew and Justin at Fab-u-Floors and the whole team at WerkMaster — from the girls at reception, Gordon and Anthea, Richard, Eric, etc, really instilled confidence in your company and the product. I can’t wait to get my Titan delivered and get my teeth into it.
I deal with over 800 OEMs and electronic component suppliers from around the globe in my current role as a Regional Sales Manager up the Eastern sea board of Australia and I have to say it is a great pleasure dealing with a company where the staff are obviously happy to be there. That’s always a good reflection of the people at the top. Keep doing what you’re doing and it should always be a pleasure to be an ambassador for WerkMaster here in Australia. If ever you get the opportunity to come here to Melbourne, please look me up, the doors open and I’d love to show you around.
Kind regards,

The Titan certainly seems to full fill our expectations in what a floor grinder should be capable of. We do a lot of high end domestic and commercial jobs where edge work is all important. The HTC machines we have seem to have real problem in flattening the edges and getting up close into the corner, not so with the WerkMaster!. The Titan is not only light enough to get into people’s property’s but it has the power and characteristics of a far bigger machine which is exactly what we were looking for. The Titan certainly has ticked all the boxes there. We also do work at Gatwick Airport near London where there is a lot of terrazzo work, here again I’m hoping to speed the process up especially with the prep work side of things.
Well done again for such a superb product.
